I started my day around 4:30am trying to catch up on some laundry and decided not to do my exercise routine, but instead hit the road for a run. More on that in a minute.
So, as I was getting lunches ready, I also prepared my To-Do list, and if you remember from my Bucket List post, you know how much I like lists! This one is a doozie....not sure I will get through it today, but will try.
First thing on the list was to take the kids to get their braces tightened. Yes, that was a plural. We have both kids in braces and it's been so much fun, I recommend it to every parent of a teenager! *yes, sarcasm*
Here is what my kids look like when they hear that it is time for "The Visit" to the orthodontist.

Next on my list was to go to the bank...check....next....run...
Yes. Run. I have not really done any running in about a month. I have walked, done weights, worked out with kettlebells (which I am in l-o-v-e with, btw). But no running because I have been rehab-ing a past knee injury.
So, today was the day to test the waters. I went for a very easy 30 minute run and it was good. It felt great to see the fall colors and get some cool air into the lungs. I am still in the wait and see mode to make sure that the knee stays "normal".
So I am up to 4 things checked off my list....
Not. even. a. dent.
How is your "to-do" list going?

I love lists, also. Sometimes I add stuff to them that I know I've finished just so I can cross them off. Oops. Did I just say that out loud? ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Crossing off *any* item feels great, doesn't it?!
ReplyDeleteOh, I have an entire book of lists, but I keep making new one's. I am not sure I am making progress! That is GREAT advice about the braces. Took me a few visits, but finally learned that. We have one in braces now, one set to get them on in about a month and then I am SURE we will need to take a second mortgage to get the other's in them. Just came across your blog, I am a new follower. Looking forward to reading more. www.8aplenty.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGee still working on yesterday's list... Suffice it to say I have quiz tomorrow for this course I am doing and I am SOOOOO unprepared and really not in the frame of mind to study for it either... Hey I am a teenager again LOL!
ReplyDeleteSorry about both teens in braces by the way poor them!
Glad the run went well
Enjoy the weekend
I cross off all my "dones" in yellow highlighter. Yellow makes me happy :-) Imagine what I'm like when the whole list is yellow! Gets a little crazy, but doesn't actually happen that often, LOL
ReplyDeleteI do have a secret love affair with lists! I think of it as therapy for my overworked brain. Both of my older two kids went through braces around the same time. Not fun or cheap. The best was when they EACH lost a set of their retainers.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to strangle them!
Have a great day-
I'm a listoholic too...I have a list for almost every day. But mine are longer :-). I LOVE crossing my "dones". Now I'm writing my list for tomorrow. Right now I'm writing Nr. 12: Buying a lot of new socks.
ReplyDeleteI am just tickled that I made your list! LOL
ReplyDeleteEverytime I get one thing off three more jump on. But I did get to run a 1/2 marathon last weekend, such bliss!
ReplyDeleteHa! I am laughing out loud.
ReplyDeleteYou see where my to do list is going, I'm sitting right here commenting on your blog.
Thanks for hte kick in the butt. Off to exercise.
Too funny!
Andie, you run too? :) Congrats on your 1/2 Marathon! That is awesome!!! I think I am adding a triathlon to the goal plate for next season.
ReplyDeleteEmpress, I only have 3 more things checked off. My list is kicking my butt! Haha!
